Bramley posted a time of 2.59.32 hours for the 42.195-kilometre run.
"To achieve it is just overwhelming," he said.
He set off from Port Fairy Rail Station before turning around at Koroit.
He finished with a loop of Port Fairy.
Bramley, a Warrnambool Athletics Club member, heaped praise on his support crew.
"Warrnambool Athletics Club is an amazing club, it's really community-based," he said.
Bramley said the club always got behind someone who wanted to achieve something.
"I had Benny Wallis to pace me, it was amazing to have someone of his calibre to help me achieve that consistent pace," he said.
Bramley thanked all those who supported him including the likes of Mark Gavin, Kerry Clapham and Ash Ansell.
"A lot of them went from Koroit to Port Fairy and ran the 21 kilometres, some went the other way," he said.
"Just seeing a few people along the way was amazing."
He said they gave him extra motivation in the final kms when he wasn't feeling great.
