Artists Des Bunyon, Delia Crabbe, Ben Fennessy, Sue Ferrari, Helen Fitzhardinge, Jean Gleeson, Britt Gow, Jodie Honan, Marion Manifold, Liza McCosh, Andrea Radley and Marie Stewart decided to create to the theme of water and their exhibition at The F Project explores a variety of issues and techniques.

Des Bunyon said the exhibition, called Water, put the spotlight on the exciting medium of printmaking.

"Sometimes printmakers don't just stick exclusively to traditional techniques," he said.

"Throughout the exhibition there's etching, monoprints and linocut prints. People have printed on paper and Maree created sculptural links to their work. Britt Gow has used traditional and solar printed images of sea creatures and printed them transparently onto glass jars that are lit with tea lights.

"Some of us are highly experienced printmakers and others do it as an interest. Most of us would be exhibiting in other venues throughout the year but we come together for one show every year."

This is the fourth collaborative group exhibition this group of printmakers has undertaken.

"I think all of us are certainly interested in looking after our own environment," Bunyon said.

"Some are more into activism than others and take up projects to do with pollution.

"I think we keep choosing environmental themes because we got such a buzz out of the first show and can see so many issues that are impacting the environment.

"Water highlights all the ways in which it can impact in our lives and environment."

Water will be able to be viewed as a virtual exhibition online at thefproject.org.au. The F Project is awaiting coronavirus regulations to determine when it can re-open.
