By moving to step three auctions can be held outdoors with a maximum of 10 people but inspections must still be done privately.
Mr Northeast, from Warrnambool Stockdale and Leggo, said it would be great to hold auctions at properties rather than through the online system but the allowance of 10 people would mean some would have to bid over the phone.
He said a recent property which was for sale via expressions of interest attracted 12 buyers and had 52 inspections.

He said the private inspections were time consuming. "But we're in selling season now so it's better than the alternative," he said.
