Marg, based at Ecklin South, has two runners on Saturday night's card.

Keayang Livana will be the first to hit the Dalvui Lane track with $10,000 stakemoney up for grabs in the 2180-metre race four.

The four-year-old trotter, who has four won of her 13 starts, finished second at Ballarat a fortnight ago.

"With the trotters you have to have a bit of patience," she said.

"She's the only trotter I've got in a stable full of pacers. She's starting to learn what it's all about and her last start was a really good run.

"She should be a chance if she does everything right."

Marg's son Jason has the drive on Saturday. He'll also be in the sulky leading Highway to Heaven over 2180m in race eight.

It will be the three-year-old gelding's first start in Australia after coming from New Zealand.

Marg explained Brisbane Lions defender Darcy Gardiner had orgainsed for the horse to cross the Tasman.

Sydney Swans' Lewis Taylor, a Terang Mortlake export, and Brisbane's Ryan Lester are also part of the group which owns Highway to Heaven.

Marg said her family and friends also co-own the horse.

She said Saturday's race would be a step up for the gelding.

"He's had two trials and is getting better in trackwork," she said.

"It'll be an experience with a local meeting and metro meeting.

"I don't expect big things because it's a big step up."

Marg is also a Terang Harness Owners, Trainers and Supporters Group committee member.

There's 17 people on the fundraising group's committee as well as members.

Marg explained it was formerly a Terang drivers and trainers group and changed name in the past decade.

Marg said the group's fundraisers included social nights, auctions, raffles and cow donations.

She said the group contributed $5000 to help take this Saturday's Gammalite feature from $20,000 to $30,000 stakes.

Other sponsors helped reach the $30,000 mark.
