There are a total of 269 active cases in regional Victoria; a drop of 26 overnight, with 109 in the Greater Geelong area and 13 in Ballarat.
There were also an additional nine deaths bringing the state's total to 385. Seven of those deaths were linked to outbreaks in aged care.
There are 40 people in intensive care.
"We are all pleased to see a 1 in front of those numbers, a little quicker than we supposed. What that shows, the vast majority of Victorians are doing a mighty job in limiting the spread of this virus," Premier Daniel Andrews said at a press conference on Friday.
"Even with the mildest symptoms, please come forward and get tested.
"In doing so, you would have made a massive contribution in getting to the other side of this second wave."
The past week's case numbers show a downward trajectory since the second instalment of stage 3 restrictions across Victoria and stage 4 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne.
The breakdown of the number of cases in local government areas is expected later this afternoon.
