As part of his roaming Seven Endangered Virtues series, the Warrnambool artist is highlighting endangered animals and and qualities through art.
"I'm doing a soup can with the word 'share' on it and it's being pushed up to the front wall of the building by a Ringtail Possum."
The idea for the series began with the Quoll carrying a toilet roll with the word 'kindness' outside Port Fairy's IGA after the manager Colin Clearly generously gave away toilet paper at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Quoll and the Toilet Roll was not a permanent drawing, unlike Food Share's Ringtail Possum.
"I'm not settled on what all the images will be," Buscombe said. "I'm looking for opportunities that will explore the theme and I might approach different community organisations."
The Ringtail Possum and the Soup Can painting marks Food Share's annual appeal and Buscombe hopes the art might inspire more people to come to the warehouse.
"The idea is to use public art in a way for people to interact," he said. "I hope when people visit they realise this is about sharing and I hope it encourages people to donate or help out here.
"Come out, have a look and donate some food."
Buscombe will put the finishing touches on the piece on Thursday.
