Cooper O'Keefe Nagorcka wrote a song in his English class with his mother Bianca and performs it daily on his front lawn in Warrnambool's Foster Street for walkers passing by.
"I just made it up one day homeschooling with mum," he said. "It's for our music class and it's quite fun.
"It's called Love is a Precious Thing and it's about love being in all creatures great and small. I just wanted to cheer people up."
Cooper has received plenty of praise for his singing and guitar playing, which he only took up about a week ago.
"People honk at me and give me the thumbs up," he said.
"I think they really liked it."
Ms O'Keefe home-schools Cooper and is proud to see the initiative he's taken throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
"He's been teaching himself guitar and he came to me and said 'Mum, I'd like to write a song to spread positivity'," she said.
"It's been really beautiful to watch and he made a sign saying 'honk if you enjoy'. People have been flipping him coins, stopped and have a chat and wound down windows to listen to him. Even kids his age have stopped and smiled.
"I'm really proud and the seed was all planted by him. He was confident enough to jump out and start singing and he really makes me smile.
"Not only is he spreading positivity, I think he's a role model."
