As a way to acknowledge unsung heroes, the competition will launch on Monday and Mira, Frankie and Jack Brigthwell's father Mark said his children were dressed up for hours in their hero costumes.
"They got to dress up in their superhero outfits and get lost in their imagination and creating their characters," Mr Brightwell said.
"We're working and schooling from home and this was a fun way to spark the day up.
"It's bringing the fun back for the kids at home in a safe environment."
Mr Brightwell has been the at-home teacher amid the second instalment of remote learning due to the coronavirus pandemic. He said his children acknowledged him as the hero in their lives
Primary school-aged children can write a story or poem, draw pictures, use photographs or upload a video to describe their superhero.
Bethany Group chief executive Grant Boyd said heroes could be anyone in children's lives.
"The awards provide an opportunity for everyday heroes to be acknowledged publicly; where acts of kindness and bravery from individuals are celebrated," he said.
"This year has been one like no other and the impacts are evident in our community.
"For children, their lives have also changed, with learning from home, being restricted from normal activities and seeing friends and broader family members.
"The awards provide them with the ability to reflect on the meaningful relationships they have."
Nominations will be divided into three age groups and children can enter their superheroes in one of two categories; family and friends or teachers, coaches and community.
Once the competition closes on September 18, judges will select winners who will receive cash prizes, as well as prizes from Adventure Park, Sea All Dolphins Swim and Collins Bookstore.
