The Heywood export, 21, has had season-ending hamstring surgery, ruling him out of the Eagles' quest for two premierships in three seasons.
Jones was injured against Sydney at Metricon Stadium in round five six weeks ago.
It was the former Geelong goal-sneak's second game for the club after making his West Coast debut the previous round against Port Adelaide.
West Coast general manager of football Craig Vozzo said the injury was more serious than first thought.
"Poor old Jamaine ended up with some surgery on Monday to repair the hamstring tendon," he told the club's website.
"That went well but it just means his season is now ended and he'll be in a rehab period building to full-strength for the rest of the year."
Jones, who averaged 10 disposals in his two appearances, arrived at West Coast in March via the Supplemental Selection Period.
He was thrown an AFL lifeline after seven games (all in 2018) in three seasons at Geelong after impressing for Hampden league club Portland and NAB League outfit Greater Western Victoria Rebels.
Jones was best on ground for Heywood in the South West District league grand final aged 16.
Meanwhile, North Warrnambool Eagles export Josh Corbett will make his first appearance of the AFL season on Wednesday night.
Corbett was selected for Gold Coast's match against Essendon at Metricon Stadium.
The match will also mark Koroit export Marty Gleeson's return after being managed.
