UPDATE 5pm: A man's body was found in the Hopkins River near Proudfoots on Sunday afternoon.
The man is yet to be formally identified.
Warrnambool police and State Emergency Services responded to the incident at 1.30pm.
SES controller Giorgio Palmeri said his team helped retrieve the body from the river.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
The matter is not being treated as suspicious.
Earlier: Police and SES are responding to an incident at the Hopkins River near Proudfoots by the River.
On Sunday afternoon a State Emergency Services tent was set up near the ski club and police were on scene.
Details about the incident are scant, but it appears to be a joint operation between police and Warrnambool SES.
