It was also a slight decrease on the 723 cases recorded on Thursday.
Premier Daniel Andrews made the announcement at a press conference on Friday.
The total number of deaths is 112.

The total number of cases linked to the aged care outbreaks was 928.

Coronavirus cases in Colac increased to 76 on Thursday and there is 13 in Glenelg Shire.
There is one new case listed in Corangamite.
There remains one in Warrnambool.

The Department of Health and Human Services confirmed a man from Portland had passed away.
"We regretfully confirm that today we were made aware of the passing of a Portland man in his 50s, from coronavirus," the department told The Standard in a statement on Thursday night.
"We pass on our condolences to his family and friends."
