The south west Victorian woman of Nirranda decided to enlist the help of students involved in the Timboon Agriculture Project and build a haybale bear.
He is now an imposing figure on her property and is known affectionately as 'TAP'.
Mrs Vallance said he had created quite a stir, especially when she adorned a mask on him recently.
The Nullawarre Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteer said she hoped it would remind people how important it is to follow advice during the coronavirus pandemic.
"If it makes people smile to see a four to five metre bear wearing a mask, that's great," she said.
Mrs Vallance reminded people to adhere to social distancing, practice good hygiene and wear a mask when unable to social distance.
"We'd also like to thank the community for their continued focus on reducing the spread of COVID-19, which reduces the likelihood of us needing to respond to extreme demand," Mrs Vallance said.
