The Department of Health and Human Services confirmed a man from Portland had passed away.
"We regretfully confirm that today we were made aware of the passing of a Portland man in his 50s, from coronavirus," the department told The Standard in a statement.
"We pass on our condolences to his family and friends."
His death will be reflected in Friday's coronavirus numbers.
No other information was provided by DHHS.

The death comes as coronavirus cases in Colac increased to 76 on Thursday and there were 13 in Glenelg Shire.
Wednesday in Colac there were 54.
Of those current 76 cases, 64 have been linked to the Australian Lamb Company cluster.
The daily local government area information from the Department of Health and Human Services lists 13 active cases in Glenelg, up from six on Wednesday.
There is one new case listed in Corangamite. There remains one case in Warrnambool.
Victoria recorded 723 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, with the total number of cases now at 9998.
There was also 13 new deaths.
They were three men in their 70s, three women in their 70s, three men in their 80s, two women in their 80s and two men in their 90s.
Ten of the 13 deaths are linked to known outbreaks in aged care facilities.
