Western Victoria Female Football League junior girls opening round is still on track to go ahead this weekend, despite other league's pulling the pin this past week due to COVID-19 concerns.
AFL Western District senior operations coordinator Mike Farrow confirmed round one matches were proceeding.
"(They're) still scheduled to commence this weekend. AFL Western District is supporting clubs to make decisions going forward as long as they are following all Return to Play (protocols)." he said.
"Will contact clubs after the weekend to review."
It comes after the Hampden league cancelled its junior season on Wednesday night, citing coronavirus concerns.
Farrow also confirmed Portland girls withdrew from the competition on Thursday.
The Tigers were scheduled to play South Warrnambool at Hanlon Park on Sunday.
South Warrnambool coach Chris Meade said the Roosters would play a scratch match this weekend.
Old Collegians will battle Warrnambool at Davidson Oval.
Terang Mortlake faces Hamilton Kangaroos at D. C. Farran Oval.
