Jayden Mulawa, 18, appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Thursday where he made a successful bail application and was released from custody with conditions, including a bail curfew.
He will be assessed for the Court Integrated Services Program while on bail and will appear in court again on Monday.
Mr Mulawa is facing 11 charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, attempted theft of a motor vehicle and aggravated burglary.
Detective Senior Constable Richard Hughes, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said Mr Mulawa was arrested on Wednesday and alleged he was a co-offender of 25-year-old Terang man Daniel Griffiths.
The detective previously told the Warrnambool Magistrates Court during a bail application the two men took part in an alleged crime spree.
Mr Griffiths successfully applied for bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court last week.
Mr Mulawa was already on bail at the time of the offending, accused of assaulting his mother. Lawyer Ian Pugh told the court on Thursday that Mr Mulawa was a young person with an intellectual disability.
Detective Senior Constable Hughes alleged the offending was committed on July 16 and 17, starting with the attempted theft of a 1994 Ford Laser in Terang's Thomson Street.
The pair are accused of using a pair of scissors to attempt to start the car.
"Damage was caused by the metal implement which was shoved into the ignition," Detective Senior Constable Hughes said.
"The vehicle can't be driven, causing great inconvenience to the victim."
Detective Senior Constable Hughes said a maroon 2010 Ford Territory was then allegedly stolen from Cobham Street.
The vehicle was fitted with a number of child car seats as the victim provided daycare services.
The Territory was found abandoned the following morning outside a home in Allansford's Zieglar Parade.
The detective alleged the offenders then attempted to steal a car from a nearby property before breaking into two other cars at that address. Wires were cut in an attempt to start an unlocked utility and two vehicles were broken into but nothing was stolen.
The court heard the men then allegedly went to an address in Clarke Street, broke into a car, located a remote control to the garage and gained entry.
The offenders smashed the windows of two cars, causing $500 damage, and tried to steal a Toyota Hilux but the battery was flat.
The offenders then attended Allansford's Frank Street and allegedly stole a 1996 Holden Commodore station wagon. The victim was asleep at the time of the break-in, which caused "a great deal of trauma and inconvenience", according to the investigator.
Uniform police patrolling Terang-Mortlake Road came across the stolen Commodore by chance at 10.50pm on July 18.
The court heard Mr Griffiths was identified and later arrested near Noorat.
Detective Senior Constable Hughes said Mr Griffiths had not long been released from Port Phillip Prison after serving an 18-month sentence for charges of theft of a motor vehicle, criminal damage by fire, aggravated burglary and theft from a shop.
He said he had 18 pages of criminal history involving over 100 individual charges.
