A spokesman said Victoria Police issued a public plea for information mild last week to help locate the man.
The 30-year-old was arrested in Shepparton on Wednesday, appeared in the Shepparton Magistrates Court yesterday and will reappear in the same court today for the continuation of a bail/remand hearing.
He has 38 pending charges in relation to a range of offences, including intentionally causing serious injury in relation to an alleged stabbing, as well as burglaries and high-end driving offences.
Police will allege the man failed to remain at his Portland address while on eight separate counts of bail.
He's been on the run for two weeks and is considered a risk of reoffending and failing to obey bail conditions if released again.
