Staff and students of Hawkesdale P12 College made a welcome return to term three, with the knowledge the school's major building and construction works were nearing completion and almost ready for complete usage.
The first stage saw office staff settle into their new environment, while work continues in the science areas.
This was made possible by a number of staff spending time during the holidays to set up the working spaces in readiness for the start of term three.
The relocation of the school's office administration area and new science rooms has been occurring since March, with disruption to the school community kept to a minimum.
With remote learning occurring for the majority of term two, workmen had easier access to the building and were able to continue with less interruptions than may have been had students and staff been at school.
Office worker Ms Bronya Lyon said she was delighted with her new working environment, highlighting its openness, greater space and visibility as its main attributes.
"It's wonderful," Ms Lyon said.
"It's bright and cheery and much more welcoming to parents, community members and visitors.
"Everyone should be delighted with the new addition."
With the administration area now at the front of the school, visitors can easily make their way into the building and office staff can attend to matters more quickly and efficiently.
The new administration area is complete with principal's office, business manager's office, meeting room and a first aid facility.
The science area is well advanced, only requiring the return of equipment and resources that have been stored in another part of the school during renovation.
The rooms will provide students with a more modern, practical and updated environment to conduct their science sessions.
It is anticipated that all classes will resume in the science area within the next couple of weeks.
