A Melbourne visitor has returned a positive COVID-19 test in Portland after displaying symptoms for the virus.

Portland District Health chief executive Chris Giles said the patient attended the PDH fever clinic on Saturday after becoming unwell and returned a positive result on Wednesday.
"This person did the correct thing and got tested, they had only recently come to Portland and have been in self-isolation since first onset of symptoms," she said.
"The fever nurse who assessed the person said the visitor followed strict criteria for attending our clinic.
"It is extremely important if anyone has even the mildest symptoms they phone the fever clinic and get tested. Doing this enables us to halt the spread of the virus quickly."
She said PDH is working with Barwon Health and the Department of Health and Human Services to ensure all close contacts are notified and are placed in immediate self-isolation pending test results to stop the spread of the virus in the community.
The fever clinic and drive through testing service continues to operate Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, and on the weekend dependant on demand.
"The people in our community have been doing a good job of limiting contacts, not gathering in large groups, hand hygiene and supporting each other from a distance," Ms Giles said.
"This has placed us in a strong position to limit the spread of coronavirus throughout our local communities.
"Now is not the time to get complacent, instead everyone should remain calm but vigilant and diligent about hand hygiene, physical distancing and good cough or sneeze etiquette, and if you are sick get tested and stay home."
They have tested 2169 people since the testing clinic opened in March 2020.
On Wednesday two more active COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Horsham. There remains one active case in Warrnambool.
