Sean Kurukchi, 40, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Friday to 10 charges, including burglary, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and possessing cannabis.
He was jailed for 10 months but will serve just half of that sentence, with the remaining five months to be served concurrently with a four-year sentence handed down in the Melbourne County Court on July 2.
On Friday, lawyer Morgan Adams asked the court to consider a "very significant fine" and/or a jail sentence that was mainly served concurrently.
But magistrate Franz Holzer said the offending was "very significant" and warranted further jail time.
Kurukchi has been in custody for 348 days.
In November 2017, Kurukchi crashed a rented Holden Commodore sedan on the Princes Highway between Winchelsea and Geelong. He did not hold a licence and had a number of prescription drugs in his system.
The court heard the vehicle crossed onto the wrong side of highway and left the road before colliding with a steel guard barrier.
Investigations revealed the vehicle was travelling at 123km/h at the time of the collision and he made no attempt to brake.
The court heard Kurukchi suffered a partially severed left forearm and a female passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered head injuries.
The pair was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital for treatment.
Then in December that year, Kurukchi stole a prescription pad from Camperdown Hospital in an attempt to self-prescribe himself Xanax.
Three months later, on March 29, 2018, Kurukchi and a co-accused broke into a house in Warrnambool's Merrivale Drive in order to find a person who allegedly owed them drug money.
They stole a TV, hard drive and Easter eggs worth $220.
Kurukchi was arrested in July 2019 on three outstanding warrants at a service station in south-east Melbourne.
He initially gave police a false name and was later found in possession of four grams of cannabis.
