The property features volcanic, free-draining soils suitable for dairy, beef, sheep, horticulture and equine pursuits. The milk production five-year average is 150,000kg milk solids, with 4.7 butter fat and 3.6 protein, and the property is currently supplying Bulla.
The dairy is a John Lee-built 40 stand rotary with De-Laval plant, 9700-litre fully refrigerated milk vat, cup removers, auto feed system, 40-tonne silo and a 300-cow yard capacity.
Other improvements include two 30x15x6m machinery sheds and a 9x18m calf shed.
Water comes from a 400-megalitre irrigation allocation from a 57-foot bore delivered throughout the farm via one kilometre of eight-inch PVC and 2.5km of 6-inch PVC to 42 paddocks with hydrants to connect to lateral irrigators (three 107m T&L available for purchase).
Stock water comes from three stock bores feeding three 7000-gallon tanks under pressure via 2-inch poly throughout the farm.
Annual pasture renovation features 20ha cropped with maize, then resewn to 40kg/ha of predominantly Bearly rye grass and 6kg/ha of clover oversewing when required, depending on the season. No pasture is older than five years and maize production is 25-tonnes per dry matter per hectare).
From mid-April to end of October there is a monthly application of 100kg/ha of urea and from November to mid-April liquid nitrogen is applied through irrigation infrastructure.
