"Port Fairy is jumping" was the simple description of the activity at the Port Fairy farmers market by convenor Anita Watts on Saturday.

She said stall holders reported brisk business after the market kicked off at about 8am Saturday.
"The stallholders I've been talking to have done very well," she said.
"People attending are doing their coronavirus social distancing and the vast majority are doing the right thing.
"We have bollards down the middle to direct people to go down one way and come back the other. Hand sanitisers are also available.
"People are all familiar with the requirements and it's now a question of maintaining that high standard."
About noon Saturday Ms Watts said she was looking at the coffee stall.
"They are flat out," she said.
"It's a bit like a long weekend in Port Fairy. It's good for the town. I don't see many locals now. They were out early, got what they wanted and went home well before the market finishes up about 1pm.
"There's a lot of produce. We've got a Port Fairy cheesemaker and one from Childers Cove with goat cheese.
"Apples from Portland, a lady doing Sri Lankan food as well as a dumping stall, a variety of flowers, honey, spuds and pumpkins.
"It's a great farmers market," she said.
