The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) website said Warrnambool received 46 millimetres of rain last month, compared to 97.2mm the same time in 2019.
The city's average rainfall for the month of June is about 76mm.
In 2019, Warrnambool was hit with nearly 18mm of rain on the last day of the first month of winter.
This year, the highest rainfall tally in one day was 11.4mm on June 23. Peak temperatures reached 16.4 degrees on June 19 this year, down three degrees from the hottest June day in 2019.
And while last year saw the hottest June day in two years, it also experienced the coldest with a low of -1.9 degrees compared to -0.3 this year.
Portland copped 83.6mm of rain last month, Casteron 80.6, Hamilton 61.4 and Mortlake 49.
Hamilton and Portland both reached a maximum temperature of 15.8, down from 17 and 19 degrees respectively the year before.
The BOM expects wetter months during late winter and early spring, with night-time temperatures for July to September likely to be warmer than average for much of Victoria.
