Warrnambool's paid firefighters will unveil their new look this week as reforms for the state's fire service come into effect.

But while their trucks will now be rebadged under the new entity - Fire Rescue Victoria - from July 1, they want to assure residents that nothing will change with the way it works with its CFA volunteers.
The new Fire Rescue Victoria service would bring the paid firefighters at regional integrated stations, such as Warrnambool, under the same banner as metropolitan fire brigades.
Commander Greg Kinross, of the Warrnambool fire station, said while the paid firefighters would be sporting a new name, Warrnambool's Country Fire Authority volunteers would still operate out of the Mortlake Road fire station and would still have the CFA logos on trucks. But the CFA stickers have already been removed from the fire appliances of the paid firefighters which would be replaced with FRV stickers.
"Uniform decals may change over time but other than that the same service will be provided by both agencies," Commander Kinross said.
He moved to assure the community that when it came to responding to fires and emergency incidents, things would stay the same.
"FRV's primary responsibility is the city of Warrnambool with support from CFA'S volunteers as well," he said.
"The service we want to provide is exactly the same and the community should be assured of that.
"The main message is that it's business as usual.
"If you ring up and dial 000 and request fire brigade, you'll be getting the same service."
Commander Kinross said the Warrnambool CFA volunteers and FRV staff would continue to work together the way they always have.
"They'll be paged out at the same time. We're co-located, so the volunteers will still work out of the fire station in Mortlake Road as well," he said.
"There's been a lot of work gone in to ensure the volunteers have their areas maintained as to what they have now."
Commander Kinross described the changes for the paid firefighters as a change of badge and management.
"We answer to the FRV commissioner now instead of the CFA chief officer," he said.
