UPDATE, Monday, 1.35pm: A Timboon district soon-to-be father who allegedly sat on the stomach of his pregnant partner has been remanded in custody until July 13 after causing a placental tear.

The man, who cannot be named as that would identify the complainant, appeared in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday charged with intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, breaching a court order, causing damage, dangerous driving while pursued by police, dangerous driving, failing to stop when required by police and committing offences while on bail.
Police said the female victim was 16 weeks pregnant.
Last week the man returned home intoxicated and told the woman he damaged her car while being pursued by police.
They argued and he damaged a TV in the lounge room.
Police allege the man became aggressive, the argument became physical, he pushed her onto a bed, climbed on her and sat on her stomach, causing significant pain.
The woman went to the Timboon hospital the next day and was transferred to the Warrnambool Base Hospital by ambulance.
She had suffered a placental tear which caused bleeding which could not be stopped.
Police say that at 6.50pm on Wednesday last week the man was driving at 160km/h at Ecklin South when he failed to stop for officers while heading towards Timboon.
It's alleged there have been four or five previous incident involving the couple and he was charged in relation to those incidents.
The man did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody for until another hearing on July 13.
Earlier: A Timboon district man is in the Warrnambool police station cells after allegedly assaulting his pregnant partner at the weekend.
It's understood the woman is about 16 weeks pregnant, that she suffered bleeding but the baby is now all right.
Police were called, the man was arrested, interviewed and has been charged with offences.
Details in relation to the alleged offending are currently not known, but the man is expected appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court today for a bail/remand hearing.
