The statewide under 18 program announced on Wednesday afternoon it would re-start in August (boys) and September (girls).
The boys' competition, which failed to play a game before COVID-19 restrictions hit in March, will include five rounds plus a finals week.
It will start on August 22 and include Greater Western Victoria Rebels which features Hampden, Warrnambool and District and Mininera and District teenagers.
The girls' competition managed three rounds before the worldwide pandemic brought sport to a standstill.
It will return on September 5 and include two rounds plus a finals weekend.
Koroit's Mac Petersen, who is on the Rebels' list, said it was "a bonus" to have NAB League matches on the horizon.
"It gives a bit of hope and it's something to look forward to," he said.
But the bottom-age prospect believes he'll have to work hard to earn a spot.
"For the boys who do play, it will be unreal," Petersen said.
"You're always a chance but being bottom-age this year it might be a bit hard (for me) especially with the short season, they'll be putting the top-age boys who are looking at getting drafted I'd say."
South Warrnambool export Renee Saulitis, who plays forward for the Rebels, was pleased to hear the update.
"It's pretty exciting, it's not many games but it's better than none," she said.
"Whatever we can get is whatever we can get. I'm happy with that."
The 17-year-old didn't lose hope of showcasing her talent in 2020.
"Seeing as though the AFL got up and running again, I had a bit of hope we'd get games," she said.
"I kept positive."
Saulitis said would be ready to play after keeping up her fitness and skills during the coronavirus lockdown.
She mostly plays forward for the Rebels but has also had a run through the midfield and back line.
