The Bombers, who notched an eighth-place finish last season, are yet to return to full-list training.
Courtney was hopeful Hampden league officials and clubs could settle a potential return date at a Wednesday night board meeting.
He said indication of a start date would give his players "something to work towards".
If we get a date it might at least give the players a bit of motivation which I think they might be lacking if they don't know what they're preparing for.

"(If a start date) was confirmed for say August 1, we'd start training this coming Saturday," Courtney said.
"If we get a date it might at least give the players a bit of motivation which I think they might be lacking if they don't know what they're preparing for.
"I think it might trigger (players) into action."
Courtney said football - if able to return safely in 2020 - would help to ensure playing numbers remained at viable levels moving forward.
"If we don't get any footy, it'll be 18 months between the end of the 2019 season and the start of the 2021 season," he said.
"A fear is that some players might not come back to play and might lose a bit of interest with other things on.
"That'd be pretty hurtful to country footy. Not all clubs have lots of potential players around all the time."
The Warrnambool and District league will meet next on June 24 while the Mininera and District league has set June 22.
