Since late March the station has been in lockdown, with presenters uploading local programs from homespun studios over the last month.

Station president John MacInnes said at 12.30 each weekday for the last four weeks, 3WAY managed to have articles read from The Standard and put to air by a telephone link between the station and the newsreader.

This provided some continuation of the service that 3WAY took up when Vision Australia curtailed its Warrnambool service, he said.

At other times of the day and night, the station has been broadcast programs supplied by the Community Radio Network, a National service created and run by the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia and delivered to member station via a satellite link.

"Given that there are approximately 70 presenters in a typical week, setting up a time table of programs and a comprehensive system of ensuring compliance with all current COVID-19 measures is no simple matter," Mr MacInnes said.

"The working group have held numerous online meetings to work out all of the essential practical steps that we must take. The virus has not gone away and the risks are still real.

"From Tuesday listeners will once again hear many of their favourite live programs, some that have been pre-recorded by local presenters and some from the network.

"It's a work-in-progress."
