"I was happy with the performance of Bit Of A Lad to run fourth in the Grand Annual. He's pulled up well from that effort.
"We gave him a good gallop at Ballarat on Wednesday and he seems in great order.
"The Australian Steeplechase is easier then the Grand Annual and I think Bit Of A Lad will like the 3900 metres of Sunday's race better then the 5500 of the Annual."
Jackson's other rides are Diamond Star Halo in a restricted hurdle and Runaway lines up in the Australian Hurdle for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
Warrnambool trainers Peter Chow and Patrick Ryan have runners in the Australian Hurdle. Robbie's Star runs for Chow while Woodsman is Ryan's representative in the 3900-metre hurdle.
