Tory Muller, 29, unsuccessfully made a self-represented bail application in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.
The case was adjourned until a further hearing on August 21.
Earlier: A Warrnambool man will appear in court on Wednesday after being charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to ongoing police Operation Abalone.
Detective Acting Sergeant Elissa Smith, of the Warrnambool divisional tasking unit, said the man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, interviewed, charged and remanded in custody to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning for a bail/remand hearing.
He has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice and possessing ammunition.
A warrant was executed at his home on Friday afternoon last week.
Police claim that an alleged drug ring leader crashed a black Jeep on the Hamilton Highway at Stonehaven, west of Geelong, on April 8.
They claim that the man arrested on Tuesday went to Warrnambool police station on April 25 and stated he was the driver of the Jeep.
Police will allege the man was paid $4000 to make the false statement.
There have now been four people charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to the accident.
The Jeep, valued about $25,000, was extensively damaged and towed from the accident scene.
Hamilton couple Daniel McDonnell 29, and Lily Goodwin, 28, both of Coulson Court, appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday and were remanded in custody until August 21.
The Jeep was registered in Ms Goodwin's name.
The couple were arrested in more than than a dozen raids that police claim has shattered a major drug trafficking network operating across south-west Victoria and south-eastern South Australia.
The arrests were the culmination of an eight-month investigation into the alleged drug trafficking of drugs.
There have also been a number of people charged with conspiracy to traffic drugs.
More raids are expected to be conducted in coming days as police continue gathering evidence during the initial stage of the operation.
