Piccatric, who won her maiden at Sale on February 28, returned a positive blood test to Frusemide, which is a prohibited substance, when detected in a sample taken on race day in accordance with the Australian Rules of Racing.
The Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory (ARFL) also reported that it had detected Frusemide, which is typically used to treat excess fluid in the body, within the reserve portion of the blood sample.
Maher Racing is understood to have conducted its own internal review into the matter after being told of the positive test and found human error led to Piccatric being wrongly treated with Furosemide.
Meanwhile, Maher was pleased with the performance of Euroman to win a restricted steeplechase at Pakenham on Sunday.
Euroman defeated The Dominator and Tremec for his first steeplechase victory.
Maher said the seven-year-old will now target the Brierly Steeplechase at Warrnambool Racing Club on May 5.
Promising 'chaser Ablaze, who was a late scratching from an open steeplechase at Pakenham on Sunday will have a school over fences before being aimed at the Warrnambool Grand Annual Steeplechase.
