A man in his 50s was fined $1632 for failing to provide a valid reason for being outside his home.
A Warrnambool police spokesperson said the man failed to move on from outside Coles supermarket on Lava Street, Warrnambool, and was "causing a ruckus down the street".
The incident occurred around 3pm on Monday.
Warrnambool police are urging people to comply with the new coronavirus restrictions set by the federal and state governments.
Under these restrictions the four reasons for leaving your house are for:
- food and supplies
- exercise
- medical care
- work and education (if you cannot do so from home)
