The man, who cannot be named because that would identify the victims, was found guilty of three charges of an indecent act with a child under 16 and 23 charges of incest after a 15-day jury trial in Warrnambool County Court last year.
On Friday he was sentenced to 20 years and seven months' jail.
The offending occurred over a five-year period and involved the man's two daughters who were both aged under 16.
Judge Gregory Lyon referred to one incident as "disgusting" and "the stuff of nightmares".
He said incest was a "repugnant offence that strikes at the core of the family relationship and involves a fundamental breach of trust".
"It stands in total conflict with your responsibilities as a parent to protect and nurture your daughters," the judge said.
"These were your own biological children that you abused. Instead of protecting your young daughters you did both of them serious harm. In the process you destroyed the family unit.
"Your actions will have profound ripple effects on the rest of your family members also."
Judge Lyon said the man's culpability was high and he had no remorse for his offending.
The man has already served 589 days in custody on remand and will be eligible for parole after 15 years.
He was registered as a serious sexual offender.
