WARRNAMBOOL Golf Club hopes it can crown a women's champion in 2020 after making the difficult call to abandon its titles with one round to play.

Lady captain Lauren Higgins said safety amid the coronavirus pandemic was the club's number one priority.
The third of three rounds was scheduled for Wednesday.
"We haven't postponed because there are too many variables - someone might not be available or handicaps change," she said.

"If time permits later in the year if everything clears up, we'll look at rescheduling and starting from scratch.
"Otherwise we might not have a champion this year."
Higgins said abandoning the championships was not a decision taken lightly but "given the circumstances there was not much choice".
"It was the safest and best option for everyone," she said. Di Robinson had a two-shot lead on Alison Sinclair in A grade.
