Brierly-Christ Church all-rounder Mark Murphy is fancied to take out the division one player of the year award which is announced on Wednesday night. It would be his second in consecutive seasons if he tops the vote-count.
Seven of the competitions's 10 leaders who responded to The Standard selected the star Bull.
West Warrnambool leader Alastair Templeton picked his Panthers' opening partner, star Ben Threlfall, for the top gong.

Murphy has been pivotal in leading the Bulls towards their second consecutive grand final appearance.
The Bull, who is already a two-time Warrnambool cricketer of the year, has been dominant in all three facets of the game this season.
His opponents have been on the receiving end of what the 27-year-old, who notched up 150 games for his club this season, has achieved this summer.
"He has got all aspects of his game working - batting, bowling and fielding," Dennington skipper Zeb McCarthy said.
"He is up there with one of the best in the field and he takes wickets and makes runs and has had another great season."
Russells Creek's Cam Williams said Murphy would win " by the length of the straight" while his brother Geoff named him as well but added Threlfall could come from the clouds to win.
The Nestles skipper also floated the likes of Allansford's Chris Bant, Creek's Shashan Silva and Woodford counterpart Nick Butters.
Merrivale leader Josh Stapleton found it difficult to pick anyone else but Murphy.
"He doesn't put in a bad performance and if he does with the bat he will follow up with ball and vice-versa," he said. "With their season, and not really losing many games, he has been performing well taking the lead in the batting stats with 500 runs as well as the bowling.
Teammate and skipper Matt Love, Allansford coach Jacob Bloom and Butters also picked Murphy.
