Timboon Gold can hardly contain its excitement after knocking off reigning premier City Memorial Red in arguably the most thrilling encounter of the division one pennant.
The match at Terang finished a tie before Timboon Gold won the additional three ends.
Skipper Arthur Finch, who led a winning rink, said it was an "exciting game and an amazing finish".
He described the 73-70 shot victory (39-19, 14-31, 20-20) as against all odds.
"It was the little club against the giants," he said.
"We're just rapt.
"We just wanted to come up and be competitive all day.
"We had a lot of people barracking for the us as the underdogs."
We just wanted to come up and be competitive all day. We had a lot of people barracking for the us as the underdogs.
- Arthur Finch
Timboon Gold turned the tables after falling to City Red 75-63 earlier this summer.
Finch praised his team for hanging in there when it fell behind on the scoreboard.
It was even contest for most of the day but with about half an hour to go, it seemed City Red had gained the advantage.
Timboon Gold bowled its way back in the dying stages of the contest.
It will face Warrnambool Gold in the decider on Saturday at Warrnambool Bowls Club.
Warrnambool Gold is hungry for success after missing out on the grand final for the first time in 26 years in 2019.
Finch said Timboon Gold was determined to give Warrnambool Gold a shake in the grand final.
"We'll go and give it our best shot," he said.
The challenge is there for Timboon Gold to redeem itself after Warrnambool Gold won their February 15 encounter 82-48 at Timboon.
Warrnambool Gold reached the decider after defeating City Red 72-60 in a semi-final.
Otherwise, it's a huge week coming up at Timboon Bowling Club.
The club's Tuesday pennant team, Timboon Maroon, is also in a division one grand final against City Memorial Gold.
Finch said the club planned to embrace the exciting week ahead.
Many members will support Timboon Maroon in the Tuesday pennant decider at Warrnambool Bowls Club.
Saturday players will also take the opportunity to have a roll on the Warrnambool greens ahead of their grand final.
The red-hot Timboon Gold defeated Mortlake Blue 72-46 at Terang in its semi-final.
Saturday's pennant grand final will have fresh faces as City Red triumphed over Koroit Blue in division one in 2019.
