Organiser Ross Barclay said the long-running event was a great way to celebrate Heywood and the wider Glenelg Shire.
"There is a real buzz in the air as the circus tent goes up," he said.
"It's a good family festival, there is plenty of different types of entertainment for the whole family.
"The day kicks off with the street parade at 11am then everyone heads into the main area at recreation reserve and continues the party until 11pm."
Festival highlights include the truck show including the Bullet Burnout Truck, stunt motorbike display, live music including the Blues Brothers Tribute Show, and khanacross rally car time trials.
"There is no fireworks this year, we used the money to buy pallets of dog food for the people of Corryong and shipped it up with one of the hay runs," Mr Barclay said.
