Beer lovers are fed up with the rising cost of the amber brew and pub owners agree with them.
Panmure Hotel owners Annie Lenehan and Graeme Throckmorton say the constant price hikes are "ridiculous".
"We try and keep our beer prices down as much as we can, but it is tough," Ms Lenehan said.
"Our customers comment on the price all the time and there are a lot of country pubs which are being forced to close their doors."
Ms Lenehan said the pub sold a pot of beer for $5, but had heard other from customers they were charged up to $5.60 at other establishments.
Her comments come as it was revealed Australian politicians were being urged to slash beer taxes in the wake of an uproar on the issue in the UK.
Tory and Labour MPs have hit out about the severity of beer taxes which, according to the Brewers Association of Australia, are significantly lower than the "exorbitant" taxes paid in Australia.
"We pay a full one-third more than them in tax on a beer," Brewers Association of Australia chief executive Brett Heffernan said.
"At $2.26 per litre, Aussies pay the fourth highest beer tax in the industrialised world ...
"Australia's beer tax went up last week and it will go up again in August. It's been quietly going up every six months since 1983."
Similarly, the Australian spirits industry has argued costs to consumers are being forced up unfairly by high excise levels.
Spirits & Cocktails Australia pushed the issue in the marginal North-West federal seat of Braddon during the 2018 by-election campaign.
It urged an excise freeze, but it did not obtain support.
Ms Lenehan bought the hotel in 2010 and took over the lease in 2013.
She also decided to diversify to cater to people from all walks of life by opening a high tea room.
Ms Lenehan said the locals were very supportive and in addition to that the town's free camping brought more customers to the town.
