Ecklin-based Marg and Jason Lee have one of the leading contenders, Code Bailey, primed for the $50,000 group two race at Dalvui Raceway on Saturday night.
Marg trains Code Bailey and Jason will have the drive.
Terang Racing Club manager Mark Roberts said he was pleased with the nine-horse field assembled for the 2680-metre race.
"The pacing cup has a quality field. Local Code Bailey ran fourth at the Hunter Cup two weeks ago," he said.
"That is as big a race going around. It should be well in the market (at Terang).
"The locals are always hard to beat on their home turf."
Roberts said Ballarat Pacing Cup winner A Gs White Socks and Rackemup Tigerpie would challenge Code Bailey for the feature race honours.
The night also features the $25,000 group three Terang Trotters Cup which is run over the same distance.
Roberts said Magicool was the one to beat in the 10-horse field.
The meeting is the biggest on the club's calendar.
Roberts said he was expecting the event to be well supported.
"We have buses coming from Warrnambool which will stop in Allansford, Panmure and Terang," he said.
"And one from Timboon, Cobden and Camperdown."
The Terang Pacing Cup is at 9.35pm and the trotters cup scheduled for 8.32pm.
