Terang Mortlake is hoping it can do just that in season 2020 after edging closer to a finals berth last year.
The Lisa Arundell-coached side has maintained its squad ahead of the Hampden league campaign and believes stability will help its cause.
"We're looking to consolidate the combinations we've already established," the third-year mentor said.
"We're looking for consistency but also looking to further develop the on-court relationships we've already built.
"As a coach, you love consistency season to season with the players you have on your list because you can work on what you've already established."

Arundell led Terang Mortlake from second bottom in 2018 (2-16 win-loss record) to within two wins of a top-five berth (8-10) last season.
She knows the Bloods need more growth to ensure they make finals in 2020.
They've already identified areas of improvement and are working on them at pre-season training.
"I thought last year our whole-court defence was pretty good but we have a few little defensive things to fine-tune," Arundell said.
"Our goal accuracy has to improve too because it's sometimes a little up and down and through the midcourt, while it's great having Aimee Moloney back out there, we want to see our defensive end support her down the court."
Terang Mortlake plays Camperdown in round one.
