Principal Robert Dowell said play equipment had not been included in funding for the school. "We wouldn't have had any play equipment," he said. "We would have had landscaping - that was part of the build - but no play equipment."
However, the school now has a number of playgrounds and smart televisions in every classroom.
Mr Dowell said the school had raised about $300,000 through fund-raising.
"We're very grateful," he said.
"We wouldn't have had all of this play equipment otherwise."
Fairbrother Construction divisional manager Aaron Finnigan said the project, which began in April 2018, was a great community asset.
"It's been a chance for us to give back to the community that we live and work in," Mr Finnigan said.
He said about 140 people, including about 20 apprentices, had been involved in the project in one way or another.
Students will move into the new school on Thursday and there are plans to create an oval at the back of the school and a hands-on learning area.
