Group one-winning galloper Begood Toya Mother, with James Winks in the saddle, resumes for Bowman in the $200,000 group two Australian Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
And the young trainer has his thoughts fully focused on that start for the five-year-old.
"There's lots of talk about other feature races like the Futurity Stakes, Orr Stakes and the All-Star Mile for Begood Toya Mother but I prefer to take it one run at a time," Bowman said.
"The Australian Stakes is an ideal race to kick off this preparation.
"Begood Toya Mother is in good shape for his first-up run. I was very happy with his final piece of track work over 800 metres with stablemate Golden Halo.
"The Australian Stakes has attracted a very even field of talented sprinters.
"Begood Toya Mother has never run at the Valley so it'll be interesting to see how he performs."

Bowman said Begood Toya Mother's regular jockey Declan Bates would be back in the saddle after the Australian Stakes.
Bates has only resumed riding following an injury to his left kneecap.
Scales Of Justice resumes for fellow Warrnambool trainer Lindsey Smith in the 1200-metre sprint.
Bowman has a healthy respect for the group one winner.
"Scales Of Justice is an obvious danger," he said.
"Lindsey's a top trainer and Scales Of Justice is a very good horse. His record says it all. Scales Of Justice has got a very good first up record and we'll undoubtedly run against him in other races during the autumn."
Begood Toya Mother, who has a big group of Warrnambool people in his ownership, is the winner of eight of his 13 starts and has won nearly $600,000 in prizemoney.
Meanwhile, Racing Victoria has transferred the Ballarat meeting next Tuesday to Warrnambool.
The change occurred because Ballarat's annual track renovation has taken longer to grow following its cup meeting in November.
There is only one alteration to the program. A 1600m benchmark 58 is now over 1700 metres.
