INTERESTING: Plenty of talk regarding the new purple bins across the Moyne Shire for residents to put glass bottles in. Many believe they're not big enough and the flies feel there should be two collections a month. The first collection across the shire is in February.
SENSATIONAL: The 72nd Moyneyana Festival draws to a close on Australia Day after a month of activities in Port Fairy. The hard-working committee has done another remarkable job putting together the event for locals and tourists. A free community breakfast on Port Fairy's Fiddlers Green opens proceedings on Sunday while other activities are also planned for the day. The festival finishes with a free movie at Reardon Theatre on Sunday night.
GET THERE: The Port Fairy Jazz Festival is the next major event in the town. The festival is on from February 7 to 9. The organising committee is looking for volunteers to assist in the running of this year's event. For more details call into the tourist information centre.
