RSL Active organiser James Mepham said it was important to support the families of those who head away to serve the community.
Alongside south-west CFA brigades, 13 army reservists from Warrnambool's 87RAR base and four police officers have been deployed.
"We will have lots of free kids activities including remote controlled cars, bike riding, ball games and snacks," Mr Mepham said.
"Volunteers will supervise the kids so parents can have a break, go shopping or go to the spa. All first responders are welcome, regardless of your uniform."
The kid's afternoon will be held at the 87RAR base on Pertobe Road.
