Drennan, a previous women's champion of champion and six-time Dennington representative, said a strong mentality was key to any drive for success at the annual championship.
"The main thing is you have to prepare yourself to beat the opposition bowl and if you play well you will hopefully win," she said.
"Obviously mental preparation is important. Some may have lucky charms that they use and others would use mental preparation.
"Singles is a very mental game, it's more mental than physical. You need to be able to concentrate for a long period of time."
Drennan said City Memorials' David Wells and Timboon pair Arthur Finch and Gillian Vorwerk were strong chances with some impressive form under the belts heading into the championship.
"All the players have had a great year and they have all bowled well and deserve to be there," she said of the playing field.
