Police are investigating whether alcohol or fatigue were factors in a single-vehicle accident near Woorndoo on Christmas morning which led to a 25-year-old man being flown to a Melbourne hospital.

Mortlake police Senior Constable Paul McLean said the collision happened about 3am on the Woorndoo-Chatsworth Road near Woorndoo.
He said the driver was trapped by his legs.
"Mortlake ambulance and State Emergency Service volunteers and Chatsworth Country Fire Authority volunteers attended at the accident scene and assisted in freeing the driver," he said.
"The driver, a 25-year-old originally from Queensland, was transported by ambulance to the Warrnambool Base Hospital.
"After being assessed he was flown to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne for further treatment in a serious but stable condition."
Senior Constable McLean said police officers were investigating whether alcohol and fatigue were contributing factors in the accident.
"He was trapped for a good hour. He suffered pretty serious injuries," he said.
