The feature race of the day was the 1400-metre Port Fairy IGA Cup, which was won by long-shot Salon du Cheval.
The Lindsey Smith trained horse, ridden by Lachlan King, paid $15.20 for the win.
It was the day of the long-shot, with Star Watcher streeting the field in the first race of the day, winning comfortably and paying a winning dividend of $13.10.
A number of Port Fairy residents made the trip to Warrnambool for the day with the meeting proving a popular Christmas outing for friends, families and work groups.
Mild conditions greeted punters, with organisers breathing a sigh of relief the day dodged the high 30s temperature predicted in the south-west for Friday.
