SICKENING: the sight of hundreds of mutton birds killed on Griffiths Island is not a good look for locals or tourists who frequent the popular spot. Fox bait had been put out to sort out the problem. The biggest issue appears to be crows.
Sadly, it's a problem that will not be easily fixed but it's time for various government groups to put their hands up to address the unsightly slaughter of the mutton birds.
BE THERE: members from the Port Fairy-Belfast Lions Club are busily preparing for the art show which runs at the Port Fairy Senior Citizens Hall from December 28 to January 4. This year's version is the 36th art show that has been staged by the club. All proceeds from the event will go to the Liberty Swing Project.
CAREFUL: with the upcoming festive season and holiday period only days away it's wise to make sure that your houses and cars are locked. The barflies say a spate of break-ins in Port Fairy and Koroit have been reported over the past few weeks.
