St Patrick's Primary School Koroit has been awarded $1,635,000 in funding from the government's non-government schools capital fund.
The funding will be used to refurbish the school's administration area and two of its classrooms.
St Patrick's Primary School Koroit principal Mark Moloney welcomed the investment.
"We have been working on this for a few years so it's the culmination of those efforts," Mr Moloney said.
"It's been five or six years that we have been working towards this and it's just great that our grant has been acknowledged as being worthy of this funding.
"It's going to be a huge improvement to the general tone of the school.
"As far as the administration goes, it will really ease the burden on staff and give them the space they need to do their work.
"The refurbishment of the two classrooms will focus on creating contemporary learning spaces for the children."
St Patrick's is one of two primary schools in the town, the other being Koroit and District Primary School.
Mr Moloney said the latest investment in his school was a good sign for the growing Koroit community.
"Koroit and District Primary School has also had some significant investment in recent years so it means children in Koroit are getting the best education opportunities no matter which school they attend," Mr Moloney said.
"That's a great thing for the whole of the Koroit community."
The non-government schools capital fund was created as part of the 2019-20 state budget and has a pool of $402 million.
Minister for Education James Merlino said every student deserved access to modern school facilities.
"With more than a third of Victorian students attending non-government schools, they'll be sharing in our record investment," he said.
