An was drafted by Internationals captain Ernie Els in late November after Australian Jason Day succumbed to injury.
The 27-year-old, from Seoul, said Warrnambool's Marc Leishman had been a supportive force leading in to the four-day event.
"Yeah, definitely, he's got great experience and he's one of the best players on our team, and he's from here, so he has experience," An said.
"He's definitely someone would you like to play with.
"He's been a big help, like especially Marc and Adam (Scott) and Louis (Oosthuizen), they are experienced players, so they have been talking to us a lot and giving us a lot of advice.
"They are the older guys - (Leishman) is still young - but we have some young guys on our team and we need help and we are getting it.
"It's very exciting to have the veterans playing with us."
The world number 43 said he felt a wave of support from Australian fans.
"This is my fourth time here. I feel like they know me. I can't wait to play in front of those fans," An said.
