Entries for the mixed pairs to be played at Timboon close this weekend.
Dennington's midweek division one side lost half its points from the first three rounds after playing an ineligible player.
In the new year the division board will consult with clubs about suggested changes to the division constitution.
In clubland
Mortlake Bowls Club has crowned this year's men's A grade singles champion. In a very high standard match which was locked at 24 shots each on the 34th end, David McNicol triumphed with the last shot.
Lawn Tennis is playing both the men's and women's final of their club singles on Sunday at 1.30pm. Seven-time winner Marj Fisher takes on Dorothy Kile and last year's champion Peter Verdon plays Ross Porter. Social bowls on Monday and Thursday at the club has attracted good numbers. Starting time is 12.30pm with names in by 12.15pm.
Region update
A selected development squad from our division has started training at the City bowls club.
This initiative from the West Coast Region will also see development squads in the Corangamite and Far Western Divisions. From these squads our region representative sides will be selected to compete in the men's and women's state region sides championships in April 2020.
In the past selection for this event has consisted of invitees attending selection days and competing against each other for positions.
This new concept is an attempt to bring the teams closer together and have set training programs that will hopefully make the West Coast Region more competitive than it has been over the past two years.
Pennant
Round seven sees the halfway mark of the season. In the weekend competition division one cohorts Warrnambool Gold and Blue will play each other in what is always a close game. Third-placed Mortlake Blue at home will be looking to consolidate its spot in the top four when it takes on City Gold which is currently fifth. Timboon Gold, currently in fourth spot, will also want to maintain a buffer from City Gold by defeating Port Fairy Red.
The match of the round in midweek division one should be at Koroit with second-placed City Gold and fourth placed Koroit Orange fighting it out.
